During one of my CSL sessions, I had the opportunity to teach a math lesson to my grade 1's and 2's. The math activity involved having a number written at the top of the cardboard paper, and students then had to 1) write it out, 2) decipher how many one's and ten's were in the number, and finally 3) additions and subtractions. After they were done the math portion, they were able to colour in a Halloween character and glue it to the top of the cardboard paper.
This was an amazing experience for my first teaching opportunity at the school. The students were not only excited and engaged, but they gave me such positive feedback and really enjoyed the lesson. I felt comfortable in my teaching position and look forward towards my next opportunity.
